@SusanCalvin @DarkChibiShadow People in my family do arts, and I know how stressful freelance work is. Just the payment system alone looks like a great service! They sound like a reasonable partner, managing economy is always something my relatives would rather not do instead of art.

Even if I dislike paywalls, Patreon must feel like a more stable financial source. Steady monthly payment instead of spot payment for freelance work. No idea what it looks like as a gallery site, though.

My Patreon isn't exactly a Paywall, as much as it's just "extra stuff"-- please keep in mind that I update 2 comics weekly, I make about 3-4 games a year (most of the time free) and that a TON of my stuff gets posted publicly-- it's only recently have I started making comics JUST for Patreon ON TOP OF the stuff I post publicly (I don't post everything here on Newgrounds because there's not a lot of interest here, oops) and it's helped so much.
Without Patreon, I couldn't do anything I want to do. I couldn't make my games, I couldn't make my comics-- I would be forced to basically *ONLY* do commissions-- and that's just not fun. The core of my work is thanks to my Patreon supporters and I love them so so much.
As a gallery site; Patreon is fine but I don't use it to host all of my exclusive content. It's got it's own website that everyone functions on and is much easier to look at.
All in all, my Patreon rocks and I love it
